DEFINITIONS
Polygraph: Instrumentation, software & ancillary equipment manufactured and/or marketed by Axciton, Lafayette IC & Stoelting (Submissions to acknowledge other manufacturers will be considered).
Voice Stress Analysis: Analogue Instrumentation: Verimetrics, PSE 100 & 2000. Software: TVT-Veracity, Baker, CVSA, Diogenes, NB Only software programmes based on the Ford/McQuiston Algorithm will be considered as approved "systems".
Polygraph Examiner: Person Who holds an APA or PAVSA accredited training certificate.
VSA Examiner: Person who holds a training certificated issued by TVT Centre or ISSA or APAVSAA or PAVSA or Polygraph Academy SA, or NITV, or Mike Kradz (USA) or Diogenes (USA).
Statement Analyst: Person who holds a training certificate issued by LSI (USA) or TVT Centre (RSA). (All submissions will be considered).
Polygraph Instructor: SAPAVSA will accredit as an Instructor, any person who meets the following criteria; Holds an APA examiners certificate for min 6yrs +
  • Has been constantly engaged in administering polygraph examinations for a minimum of 10yrs +
  • Has administered 3000min polygraph examinations +
  • Has submitted a paper for favourable review by the PAVSA Board (Min 3000 words),
    or has published any work in the field of detection or deception techniques +
  • Is 40 years or older
  • Has no criminal record for theft, fraud or other crimes of dishonesty +
  • Is a person of sound moral character
  • Submissions will be accepted for consideration and are subject to approval or rejection without recourse.

VSA Instructor: PAVSA will accredit as an Instructor, any person who meets the following criteria;
  • Holds an examiners training certificate for min 10yrs +
  • Has been constantly engaged in administering VSA examinations for a minimum of 10 yrs +
  • Submits a paper for favourable review by PAVSA (Min 3000 words) or has published any work in the field of detection or deception techniques
  • Is 40 years or older
  • Has no criminal record for theft, fraud or other crimes involving dishonesty
  • Is a person of sound moral character
  • Submissions will be accepted and are subject to approval or rejection by the Board without recourse.

SA PAVSA Board: Will comprise minimum 3 persons. Chairman, Legal & Ethics officer, Compliance Officer, Chairman holds the right of VETO and may cast an additional vote to break any deadlock
Membership Status:
  • Intern Member
    (Undergoing training. Not yet certified)
  • Affilliate Member
    (A member of less than 18 mths standing)
  • Associate Member
    (Member of more than 18 mths; less than 36 mths)
  • Full Member
    (Member for more than 36 mths)
  • Fellow
    (Member for more than 48 mths)
  • Chairman
    (Must be chosen from Fellows)

Voting Rights & Procedure:
  • Intern Member - 0 Vote
  • Affiliate Member - 1 Vote
  • Associate Members - 2 Votes
  • Full Member - 3 Votes
  • Fellow - 4 votes
  • Chairman has a casting vote

Voting will be carried out by secret ballot. The Chairman may randomly select any member to count & tally the votes.
